As part of our community outreach efforts, Metro works with a variety of non-profit organizations, either volunteering in person or using our creative talents to provide video services. It is an exciting occasion when we get to do both! We recently produced a 30th anniversary film showcasing Richmond Habitat for Humanity's accomplishments over the last three decades, AND we were able to get our hands dirty by volunteering at a Habitat building site in Church Hill several weeks ago.
Don't worry, we won't quit our day jobs. We're much better at video production than home improvement, but we had a blast channeling our inner Tim Allen. Over the course of our day, we painted the inside of a home, cut wood for fencing, removed a stump from the front yard, and scraped paint off window frames. See pictures from our adventure below!
Habitat for Humanity revitalizes neighborhoods and permanently brings families out of poverty by building or rehabbing homes. As a result of the dedication of Habitat employees, donors, and volunteers, more than 331 families in the Greater Richmond area have been given the gifts of empowerment and hope by becoming homeowners. We are proud to share their triumphant stories in the following video.
Thanks to Habitat for allowing us to volunteer, and thanks to all employees who lent a helping hand.
